Greka spills four barrels of crude

By DAILY SOUND STAFF — July 28, 2010

Four barrels of crude oil (168 gallons), spewed onto the ground Monday morning at a Greka Oil and Gas Inc. facility at 6605 Palmer Rd. near Santa Maria, officials said.

Santa Barbara County Fire crews responded to the spill, at the Bell Injection Facility, just before 11 a.m.

Officials said the spill was caused by an injection pup failure. The spill was limited to a designated containment area. A vacuum truck was used to cleanup the spill.
