Pacific Capital keeps top executive through 2012

Pacific Capital Bancorp this week agreed to a two-year contract with George S. Leis to continue to serve as president and chief executive officer of the Santa Barbara-based company through April 1, 2012.
Meanwhile, the troubled bank holding company’s stock rose to more than $2 a share in mid-day trading for the first time since last year after dropping to as little as 61 cents a share.
