Headliner announced for local Kids Helping Kids gala

Kids Helping Kids, the annual fundraiser put on by San Marcos High School students that has raised thousands of dollars for the Unity Shoppe, announced that Five For Fighting will perform at the organization’s charity gala early next year.

Put on by 100 high school seniors, the event will also feature other musical performances, live and silent auctions, and refreshments. All proceeds will go directly to the Unity Shoppe, which has received more than $250,000 during the past seven years through the efforts of Kids Helping Kids.

This year, organizers are hoping to hit their fundraising goal of $125,000 by securing donations from community members and donated auction items from local businesses and organizations. The gala takes place on Jan. 8, 2010, at the Granada Theatre. More information is available by calling 729-5414 or sending an email to kidshelpingkids@unityshoppe.org.
