Molestation suspect arrested
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested a 58-year-old Montecito man who is suspected of molesting two pre-teen girls.
A Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the two girls, sisters, informed a relative about the alleged abuse on Nov. 30, and on Wednesday morning, detectives arrested Jeffrey Quenton Johnson at this home on West Mountain Drive.
Johnson was being held in County Jail on three charges related to sexual abuse. His bail was set at $500,000.
Investigators believe the abuse occurred over the last three years. Authorities said anyone else who may be a victim, or knows a victim, should contact the Sheriff’s Department at 681-5405, or the anonymous tip line at 681-4171.

This man is someone I have known since he was seventeen, and would never suspect such actions. I plead with all to assume innocence until proven guilty. If he is innocent, it has to be a horrifying experience to be subjected to such an accusation. If he is indeed guilty we need to empower the girls involved, praising their courage to speak out, and treat Jeffery as what he may be, a sick individual.

I do not claim to be more intelligent than any poster here, and I am not drugged, but I do know enough not to simply react to incomplete information, especially where so much pain is involved. I DO know what it feels like to be repeatedly molested as a child, being a victim myself. Your instant response to what you assume to be the truth is both unintelligent and unwise.
